Shahada

The Shahada (Arabic: الشهادة‎) is the Islamic declaration of faith and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It is a statement professing monotheism and the acceptance of Muhammad as God’s prophet.

The Shahada is:

“Ashhadu an lā ilāha illa Allāh, wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan rasūl Allāh.”
(Arabic: أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمدًا رسول الله)

This translates to:

“I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

Sincerely reciting the Shahada with belief is considered the act by which one formally enters the Islamic faith. Would you like more context on how it’s used in daily life or religious practices?
