The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) Said:
Islam is built upon 5 Pillars
- The declaration that there is none worth of worship except Allah and that Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
- To establish the prayers.
- To pay the Zakah.
- To Perform Hajj to the house of Allah (Ka’bah).
- Fasting in the month of Ramadan.
Translation:
Plural: Pillars = Arkān Singular: Pillar = Rukn
Declaration of Faith(Shahadah)
“There is no god worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is his salve and messenger” : as a Muslim this statement by God’s will stay with you throughout your life.
Prayer(Salaah)
Daily ritual prayers(Salaah)
To Pray Five Times a Day.
Obligatory Fasting(Swam)
Fasting in the month of Ramadan, One month a year.
Obligatory Giving (Zakat)
Taken from the wealthy and given to the needy, Once a year.
Pilgrimage to Mecca(Hajj)
To visit Makkah and specified sites once a year.
